Converting Clutter to Goodwill

Outside of the traditional places to donate unwanted items, the following organizations may not be well-known:

• Furniture:  The National Furniture Bank Association will give your furniture to anyone who can use help.
• Cell Phones:  Collective Good allows you to choose the charity your used cell phone helps.
• Books:  The International Book Project will ship your unwanted books to be utilized in orphanages, schools, and libraries.
• Winter Coats:  One Warm Coat
• Computer Equipment:  The On It Foundation provides computers and internet access to low-income families.
• Sneakers:  Reuse-a-Shoe The rubber is used to create play areas for children globally.
• Musical Instruments:  Operation Happy Note sends your instruments to soldiers overseas.
• Misc. items:  Excess Access will find a local nonprofit that can use your item.
